Leave Santiago early for Cajón del Maipo, hike 4 kilometers to a volcano viewpoint, then soak in Baños Colina’s mineral pools at 2,500 meters. A bilingual guide leads the small group, with lunch, wine, water, transport, insurance, and hot-spring entry included. Guides such as Andrés, Gonzalo, and Jesús are known for their nature and geology talks.

“Gonzalo was an excellent guide! We went in early November and pants with a sweatshirt and windbreaker was perfect. I was happy to have hiking boots as the melting snow left streams and waters. Hot springs were a great way to relax. Gonzalo is passionate about connecting with nature and Chilean history. Incredibly worth it. We are not hikers and were able to do the hike, with minimal challenge, maybe accommodations for those with knee issues.”

We had the best guide, Sebastian! The guide admits the tour is his first trip as well. Hence seems helpless. 3. The driver is more active virtually taking over control. He is excitedly speaking throughout, sometime even getting his both hands off the steering... 4. The tour wad supposedly to start at 6.30. Leave Pucón with guide Blas for a private trek on Villarrica Volcano’s southern side. Walk about three hours through native forest and araucarias to open volcanic slopes, then relax in Geometric Baths, where 20 thermal pools sit along 450 meters of red walkways. Transport, park entry, equipment, insurance, and a certified guide are included.

“The site on a private land is very beautiful. The hike can be a bit sporty with thick snow and an ascending grade from the beginning, but is very worthwhile. Due to the weather the view of the volcanos from the top was obstructed. But the forest with the snow and nature sound was so beautiful that it didn’t matter. On a clearer day with the view the hike must be even more fantastic for sure. Blas, the guide and owner of the agency, is very professional and highly experienced in mountain hiking and trekking. He provided good technical advices and made the hike very pleasant and fun. The geométrical…”

From Pucón: Geometric Hot Springs

11.Geometric Hot Springs

★★★★★★★★★★4.3 · 20 reviews · 8 hours · from $133

Travel 86 km from Pucón to Geometric Hot Springs in Villarrica National Park. You get hotel pickup, entry, and three hours to move among 16 pools heated from 35°C to 42°C, plus four cold pools. The setting beside the Aihúe stream is lovely, but pickup coordination with Bercovich Travels needs care.

“Horrible experience. The driver ignored our messages and calls, left us waiting, and we had to walk 15 minutes through mud to catch the van. The van almost left without us, and they had to stop it on the road. The driver pretended not to have an internet connection, wrote fake addresses to avoid finding our location, and refused to drop us off at the same place. He didn’t speak a single word of English, and when we suggested calling a uber, he told us to just get out of the van and figure it out ourselves. We had to pay for an Uber. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.”

Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking guides, including Cris and Fabio, lead the day. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, but older vans, crowded hot springs, and seasonal closures can affect the experience.

15.Puritama Hotsprings AM or PM

★★★★★★★★★★4.2 · 9 reviews · 4h 30m · from $65

You’ll ride 40 minutes north from San Pedro de Atacama to Puritama, a green canyon with seven naturally hot pools at 3,500 meters. An English or Spanish-speaking driver handles transport, then gives you time to relax before returning to town. Bring swimwear, a towel, water, and 35,000 CLP for entry.

“The hot springs themselves are amazing. The driver was also very friendly. However we had to coordinate with 3 different WhatsApp chats and fill out forms that asked for unnecessary detail (including our weight) just to go on the tour. They initially added us to the wrong group (we booked AM and they added us to PM). They also advised at the pickup time that they couldn't find our hotel on the map even though we confirmed the name of the hotel about 3 times in the various forms etc. prior to the tour.”
